Ste. Genevieve Police Department is an 11 member Post Certified police department serving the residents, visitors, businesses, and industries in the city. Dispatching duties are handled by St. Francois County Dispatch through a cooperative agreement with the Ste. Genevieve County 9-1-1 Board. The dispatch non-emergency line is 573-431-3131.

The department commissions two School Resource Officers at Ste. Genevieve County R-2 Schools that are paid employees of the school.
