Any exterior improvement to a property in the historic district, whether it be new siding, new windows, a fence, or shed must first be approved by the Heritage Commission, a group of appointed residents who will review the application and determine if the improvement maintains the character of the district. The application is available online and the Commission meets the 3rd Monday of each month with applications due at least 7 days before the meeting.

Some limited minor improvements can be approved without going to the Heritage Commission by the Assistant City Administrator. Call city hall for more information.
